Summit Success!!

On Saturday 23rd January at 14.51:36 local time, Matt, Pete, Rich and Andy reached the summit of the highest mountain outside the Himalayas, Mt Aconcagua 6962m. In all it took over 14 hours walking on summit day, but two weeks to reach this point. All of us have pushed ourselves to the limit both physically and mentally to reach the summit which was by no means a walk in the park. We are all now safely back down at base camp recovering and sorting kit before starting the three day trek back to Mendoza.

Our thoughts are with one of the Dutch members of our team, Harold, who was evacuated off the mountain three days ago with suspected pulmonary and cerebral oedemas . We shall catch up with him in Mendoza where we shall also be able to fill you in with a much more detailed account of our last two weeks .........they’ve been quite eventful!!

Photos to come!

Best,

Pete and Matt [ + Rich and Andy]
